My sweet light, sweet love of mine
It might never again feel like it’s the right time
If it’s the end, well, let’s cross that line
Let us step into the darkness
Let’s step into the darkness
I was a ghost, you were the fear of god
All of my shrines, old broken hearts and wind chimes
I was alive just waiting for the hand of time
All of my ghosts went up in smoke
And through the window
I heard you singing in the street last night
Singing my song “Live long for the sweet light”
I started singing but the words felt so wrong
Singing that song when the darkness feels so right
I was a spark, you were the wind I claimed
All of my fears went up in smoke, up in flames
I was a child and happy just to play the game
I waste my years waiting for the wind to change
My sweet light, sweet love of mine
It might never again feel like it’s the right time
If it’s the end, well, let’s cross that line
Let us step into the darkness
Let’s step into the darkness

This album is single-handedly getting me through my seasonal depression. Captures the energy of the season perfectly, and with a nice hopeful message to remind myself to keep going. <33 redrevelry

This is undoubtedly my single favorite album of all time. It feels like such a perfect culmination of all the themes and ideas Fleet Foxes has been working with since 2008. It answers many of the questions found on both Helplessness Blues and Crack-Up, and represents an incredible maturation and growth in Robin Pecknold's perspective. Their other albums are certainly masterpieces, but this, in my opinion, is their magnum opus. I doubt it will be recognized as such in its time. isaiah_stuart
